Alright. The first time you happened upon this blog, you may have two questions. The first would be: What is this blog all about?
Well, as the title says, this blog is A Place to Relax . . .Within this blog, I will share with you photos, illustrations, literal imageries, poems, songs... anything that can help you relax and reduce your stress. I will not teach you stress-reducing techniques like certain aerobics, or some eastern martial arts yoga meditation . . . No. I will offer you tidbits you can use to help you relax day by day. Something new, something fresh, something . . . relaxing.
That brings us to your second question: Why in the world would I make a blog dedicated to relaxing?
Simple. The grand, silent killer of the modern age is stress. Without stress, our body is more than capable of handling microbe or viral infections. Without stress, our pancreas are more than capable to produce insulin that will control your blood sugar. Without stress, moderate amount of cigarette and liquor are easily compensated by the body.
But stress changed everything. It made our body so underperforming, that even the slightest attack of microbe, the smallest amount of liquor, a half-stick of cigarette, such slight disturbances, is enough to send our body into a spiraling nosedive. Ever wonder why you used to be able to walk in the rain, enjoying the waterdrops on your body, and not get sick? While in other times, you try desperately to avoid the rain and arrive as dry as possible, and got sick?
Relaxing is the only way to remove your stress. Relaxing does not mean running away from stress, but actually shifting your body into a state of existence, where daily problems no longer count as a burden, but rather, as a challenge. Your mind disentangles itself. Your muscles no longer strained and twitched. Your breathing become calmer, deeper, and . . . you are relaxed. Suddenly, the niggling problems you've been battling all day are no more than small pebbles in your road of life.
So, without further ado, I humbly present you with this blog.
May you find the contents of this blog . . . relaxing.
... come and let your tired body & soul be washed by gentle and soothing words ...
